I’d like to propose that DESK lists its own native trading pair rather than relying solely on external DEXs like Uniswap. Observing HYPE’s successful implementation of this strategy demonstrates several key benefits we could replicate:
- Increased Platform Control - Maintain pricing stability and governance over our primary market
- Improved User Retention - Encourages traders to stay within our ecosystem
- Proven Model - HYPE’s success shows clear positive outcomes from this approach
This alignment with HYPE’s winning strategy could create significant value for all DESK users while strengthening our platform’s position in the market.
Would love to hear your thoughts and comments!

Thanks for your proposal Whipper! We’ll be highlighting your proposal to the community to gather wider feedback and see how aligned everyone is with this vision. Looking forward to hearing more thoughts from others!
Just a quick note for context: since DESK is focused solely on perpetuals and doesn’t support spot trading, listing a native pair wouldn’t really replace Uniswap. It would serve a different purpose within our ecosystem.

Whipper makes a good point and the team should consider this.
I’m not familiar with the HYPE model, but I’m sure they have also encountered drawbacks, which DESK can now improve on as a “second” mover.
I’d also like to add that, which having more control over your own token, DESK proves their trust in their own tech and utility. If swaps within our own eco-system are possible, then this could also encourage the direct use of other products with could foster revenue growth.
