And whichever true majority wins will be respected as such!
At the core, that’s the point of this discussion anyways…
@Takamura as a best practice I would suggest a daily Discord tag and a Twitter (currently known as X) post. People do not check Social Media regularly but this way most people can be reached
Also a good way up HMX visibility and proof of seriousness about Governance practices together with the community.
Just a stupid note, can people that unvested/restaked actually vote now or do we have a huge number of tokens that can not vote at all? Wouldn’t it be wise to either wait 21days (to be able to vote) or skip that rule for this vote?
That would certainly help, but we must be cautious not to overwhelm people with excessive messages. We need to find a balance in our communication approach and must compromise.
You’re correct that these tokens (unstaked tokens) won’t be available for voting at all from the beginning of the 21-day cooldown period. While I don’t believe we should skip this rule, I’m curious to hear your thoughts on why you think it might be necessary.
Restaked tokens will count towards voting power though.
I disagree. You (HMX) are in a Web3 environment that heavily relies on Social Media algorithms pushing your communications to the top of the pile.
You make one or two tweets per week (if that), which means you are at the bottom of anyone announcement and feed list. HMX will probably not even show up for most people… which is also why many people only reacted after the fact votes and decisions were made.
Delicate or not, this is something the team should think about. If it’s not reminders for the same thing… try to come up with engaging things to push HMX’s social media presence up the ranks. Include educational games, relevant news updates about the sector (that impact HMX actively or passively)… get a content creator if it’s too much for the existing crew.
What is done right now is too little, in my opinion.
I was mainly referring to Discord pings, which we try to limit to avoid spam but we’ll still take your suggestion into consideration.
Regarding Twitter, I’ll definitely share your thoughts with the team. You make excellent points about our social media presence, and we’ll consider your suggestions for improvement.
HIP-5-3 results are in Dragons! esHMX tokens that were put into vesting before July 15, 2024, at 09:00 AM UTC will be exempted from the DP requirements and the new 36-month vesting period introduced with the HIP-5 votes.
Hey Dragons!
After the recent voting period for the different parts of HIP-5 (1, 2, and 3), we wanted to provide a brief summary of the changes that will take place this Thursday, August 15th, 2024
New Dragon Points (DP) Requirement: A new requirement will be implemented where 1 DP is required to vest 4 $esHMX.
Extended Vesting Period: The vesting period for esHMX will be extended to 36 months.
Grandfathering of Existing esHMX Vesting Positions: Any esHMX vesting positions established before August 15th will continue to vest under the old rules.
DP Addback Option: A one-time DP addback option has been approved. Users who unvest and re-stake their esHMX can reclaim a portion of their burned DP.
Calculation Formula: DP burned to be added back = min(Total Staked / Total Unstaked × DP Burned, DP Burned)
This calculation accounts for DP and staking/unstaking activities between May 1st and August 15th.
